Respect Nature

By this time you would be thinking, I am completely against medical institutions and system. I would like to clarify and move forward, to be frank Doctors and Nurses are the ones who are working 24/7 saving humans across the world. Unlike other professionals, they don’t get a project plan to plan their work, every day they are facing unique challenges. Let me take this opportunity to thank every health worker for the sacrifice and contribution.

There is no ambiguity that science and medicine are helping mankind to sustain and live longer. The problem arises when we replace nature with science/technology.

If Government & authorities introduce a law, training on walking for babies as mandatory in pre-schools. May be in next few years/decades, we believe a baby can walk only if they go to school. Similarly, in child birth, I am only asking to look for all options and respect nature.

Humans are messy and imperfect, at medical institutions we work on perfecting the statistical data model, if average and standard deviations are not met, we consider them as disease and start treating.

Nature is not X vs Y linear graph, nature is complex. Still science is trying to understand nature. Likewise, child birth is not only physical treatment but and also it’s a combination of mind and body of two persons and bringing new life to earth.

Natural birth supersedes normal birth/delivery due to various advantages to mother and baby

#Flattenthecurve became people movement to reduce the exponential rise of COVID-19 spread in 2020. The world went under lockdown fearing spread of the invisible virus, nature started healing itself at most of the places. Climate/air quality was better after many decades. A lesson was learnt by mankind to stop exploiting nature and start respecting nature.

May be another #flattenthecurve movement is required to stop the rise of C-section cases and encourage natural births.

Come, let’s start respecting the nature….

Birth Village – The Natural Birthing Centre

Birth Village – The Natural Birthing Centre I did not want to listen about Birth Village, I never heard of this, I was not ready to take any chance. But she insisted to read birth stories on Facebook, she made me to like their page. I tried to read few stories, but not much help, my mind was completely fenced and I was not able to understand the terms on the stories, like midwifery, doula, VBAC etc. (To make your life simple, I have added this definitions section in the beginning of the book, thank me later J ) Nudges from her made me to read few stories, see Birth Village website. She explained we needed to register there at least by 25-28 weeks of pregnancy and we need to shift to Kochi by 36 th week and stay there for 4 to 6 weeks after birth (i.e., total 4 to 8 weeks of stay in Kochi). I was just nodding my head. Her 22 nd week was coinciding with her birthday, so I thought it is better to plan a babymoon and her birthday celebration in Kochi and also visit Birth ...

D-Day (Delivery/Birth)

D-Day (Delivery/Birth) During 36 th week we got a checklist “what to bring with you to Birth Village,” on the day of Birthing. We should prepare three bags - Mamma’s bag, Baby’s bag and additional (miscellaneous bag). You would be curious to know the list of items on the additional bag. It consists of essential oil, fruits, dried fruits, nuts, tender coconuts, honey, dates, chocolate and tripod of videography, music system, candles, and favorite pictures religious or otherwise that make you feel comfortable at home. As I mentioned, Birth Village is a home with caring hearts, on the day of your delivery you can organize the room as you want it to be. Dim lights, fragrance from essential oils and music of your choice will make you calm and relaxing. We use to visit Birth Village every day after water trickle incident for fetal monitoring and regular blood tests. On Sunday mid-night, my wife started feeling a labor pain with intervals of 5-10 min. She performed pelvic m...

Tips To Fathers

Tips To Fathers Father and mother equally share the responsibility of birthing. Mother shall take care of physical wellbeing by following the health regime. Father shall provide peace of mind by supporting and understanding. Read, discuss with experts, consult and improve your confidence on natural birthing, once mother and father are confident, mutually no one stop you from reaching the goal. Friends and Relatives react: Yes, our mind is still fenced with the thought that natural birth is difficult and VBAC is impossible etc… but as a father you can do all the answering or/and shield the mother from different thoughts and distress. Hormone changes: due to hormonal changes mother may react in a different way, keep calm and react assertively. Treat her like a child. Use apps/reminders and check on the proper intake of food and supplements to meet the daily requirements. Join daily for a walk. During that year, shift your focus on mother and baby, of-course work and other ...
