INTRODUCTION & FOREWORD:

Jeevan Hebbalu born and brought up in Hassan, Karnataka hails from Hebbalu in between two historical places Belur and Halebeedu. Born to an agriculturist father and genius house maker mother, he pursued his Engineering in Electrical & Electronics and has 15 years of experience in Validation, Quality and R&D departments in Indian Conglomerate and German MNC. He has also Initiated and Participated in CSR activities within his team.

He is passionate about writing travel blogs, articles on #Lifeline (leadership lessons learnt) and is also a voracious reader of books and enjoys riding bike. He has also travelled to important European Nations thereby getting deeper insights into various cultures, lifestyles & people. He believes in humanity, striving to help others as much as possible, so that it makes their life easier and happier.

Jeevan is happily married to Madhuri for the past 9 years who hails from Mysore, Karnataka. The Couple are blessed with Two Children.  First being Son Ayush born in 2013 through C-Section and Second being daughter Adrija, born in early 2020.  Their Daughter who was born through VBAC (Vaginal Birth After C-Section) represents Goddess Parvathi, who herself is Mountain Born / Nature’s Baby.

Madhuri is a Graduate in Electronics with close to a decade of experience in Corporates and MNC and currently works in the same organization as her Husband.  She has also travelled to important European Nations along with Jeevan and is very proficient in German Language.

Madhuri, just like any other woman firmly believed throughout her First Pregnancy that she will deliver naturally her first child but the last minute Medical ordeal, which she still feels was unwarranted, forced her to deliver her Son Ayush through C-Section and made her almost depressed later on.  With limited knowledge on Medical procedures especially the ones related to Complicated Child birth / Midwifery practices, she decided emotionally to not even have a Second Child at one point of time.  But as time passed by she started to gain advanced knowledge on alternative / traditional Child Birth Practices and continued to be deeply engrossed in their research and finally found more about VBAC.  With this knowledge and also faith and belief in her resolve to deliver a CHILD NATURALLY  she was at last able to deliver her Second Child Adrija in early 2020.

She is elated about her humble & soul gratifying achievement and has decided to share her experience with all expectant Mothers especially with the ones who have had their first child birth through C-Section and are little aware of VBAC. In this way, throughout her lifetime, she would like to strive hard to motivate & educate women about the benefits of having a NATURE’S BABY.

At the outset, we as a Family, would like to Congratulate our esteemed Friends Jeevan & Madhuri for having decided to put the birth experiences of their wonderful children Ayush and Adrija in the form of a ‘E-Book’ after making a thorough research into the relevant subject matter and giving the readers a deeper & emotional insight into the relatively mysterious and often considered Taboo Topic of Pregnancy and Child Birth.

Having descended from a Family where blessed & pious women considered giving birth to children a sacred lifelong duty facing unexplainable hardships and risks for delivering each baby naturally, We feel really humbled and honored to write this Foreword.  This ‘E-Book’ is about the real time experiences of the well learned and thoughtful couple and their saga of producing two of their Offspring’s in remarkably contrasting manner and their years of research, mental preparedness and planning to reinforce their faith and commitment in producing a Nature’s Baby defying all Odds and conventional Medical Practices.

All throughout the history of mankind the WOMEN FOLK have the most important responsibility that of producing the offspring so that the human race keeps going on and on, generation after generation. So pregnancy and childbirth has not been a recent phenomenon that enthused the above authors to write this E-Book.  But the fundamental fact that they want to convey is that every woman has a right to give birth to a Child in a natural way like all her ancestors and fellow women have done.

But unfortunately significant advances in the field of Medicine especially in the branch of Obstetrics have thrown open lots of options for women to choose alternative birthing methods which comes at its own risks when compared to the Traditional way.  But every scientific advancement when it tries to fight against the force of nature has its own perils & demerits.  Similarly the magical & emergency surgical procedure of C-Section or LSCS which is hardly a Century Old Medical Phenomenon in this part of the world has somehow been over utilized sometimes not necessarily for the original purpose for which it was meant for i.e. to primarily save the Mother and Child when either of the lives are at risk during child birth. This was the original agenda behind introduction of this EMERGENCY SURGICAL PROCEDURE to reduce MMR (Maternal Mortality Rate) & IMR (Infant Mortality Rate) according to the WHO.

To conclude, we would like to reiterate that this E-Book is just a means to demonstrate the alternative way of thinking of Madhuri to deliver her Second baby in a natural way despite having her First child through the C-Section.  This is despite the conventional Medical wisdom which does not entertain such a risk giving little scope for women to even think of delivering naturally.  But the strong will of the family and their thorough research for alternatives backed by phenomenal knowledge acquisition about Pregnancy and Childbirth, Spiritual faith and so many other minute details gave them the mental strength to achieve the impossible.  More commendable is their dedication to translate all the wealth of knowledge acquired over the years into an ‘E-Book’ so that the Society is enriched by such thoughts and a larger awareness is created.

We take great pride in wishing them all success and hope that each and every reader of this book also appreciates the hard work put by the couple and spreads the knowledge about the New Reality to all their known circles thereby creating positive vibes everywhere and influencing the minds in a positive note.

Birth Village – The Natural Birthing Centre

Birth Village – The Natural Birthing Centre I did not want to listen about Birth Village, I never heard of this, I was not ready to take any chance. But she insisted to read birth stories on Facebook, she made me to like their page. I tried to read few stories, but not much help, my mind was completely fenced and I was not able to understand the terms on the stories, like midwifery, doula, VBAC etc. (To make your life simple, I have added this definitions section in the beginning of the book, thank me later J ) Nudges from her made me to read few stories, see Birth Village website. She explained we needed to register there at least by 25-28 weeks of pregnancy and we need to shift to Kochi by 36 th week and stay there for 4 to 6 weeks after birth (i.e., total 4 to 8 weeks of stay in Kochi). I was just nodding my head. Her 22 nd week was coinciding with her birthday, so I thought it is better to plan a babymoon and her birthday celebration in Kochi and also visit Birth ...

D-Day (Delivery/Birth)

D-Day (Delivery/Birth) During 36 th week we got a checklist “what to bring with you to Birth Village,” on the day of Birthing. We should prepare three bags - Mamma’s bag, Baby’s bag and additional (miscellaneous bag). You would be curious to know the list of items on the additional bag. It consists of essential oil, fruits, dried fruits, nuts, tender coconuts, honey, dates, chocolate and tripod of videography, music system, candles, and favorite pictures religious or otherwise that make you feel comfortable at home. As I mentioned, Birth Village is a home with caring hearts, on the day of your delivery you can organize the room as you want it to be. Dim lights, fragrance from essential oils and music of your choice will make you calm and relaxing. We use to visit Birth Village every day after water trickle incident for fetal monitoring and regular blood tests. On Sunday mid-night, my wife started feeling a labor pain with intervals of 5-10 min. She performed pelvic m...

Tips To Fathers

Tips To Fathers Father and mother equally share the responsibility of birthing. Mother shall take care of physical wellbeing by following the health regime. Father shall provide peace of mind by supporting and understanding. Read, discuss with experts, consult and improve your confidence on natural birthing, once mother and father are confident, mutually no one stop you from reaching the goal. Friends and Relatives react: Yes, our mind is still fenced with the thought that natural birth is difficult and VBAC is impossible etc… but as a father you can do all the answering or/and shield the mother from different thoughts and distress. Hormone changes: due to hormonal changes mother may react in a different way, keep calm and react assertively. Treat her like a child. Use apps/reminders and check on the proper intake of food and supplements to meet the daily requirements. Join daily for a walk. During that year, shift your focus on mother and baby, of-course work and other ...
